                      STEMI

                      Picture
Addresses the ongoing need to train emergency professionals in the early recognition of STEMI.

Thousands of ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) patients fail to receive critical therapy in a timely fashion each year, and nearly 30 percent do not receive any reperfusion treatment at all. As a result, the American Heart Association created products that specifically focus on STEMI recognition.

With the major goals of keeping door-to-needle time within 30 minutes for patients without contraindications, and door-to-balloon time within 90 minutes, the STEMI manual covers out-of-hospital and emergencydepartment systems of care for STEMI, STEMI identification and treatment, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS) pathophysiology.
